# Cannot register user on local instance of Galaxy

Hello,

I recently went through the steps to install galaxy onto my MacBook to run as a local instance. The installation appears to have worked fine and I can pull the galaxy interface up in my local host web browser. However, when I go to register as a new user on the local instance I click create and nothing happens. The web page just freezes and can only be un frozen by stopping galaxy and reopening again. What’s strange is that I can still use the default tools on my local galaxy instance (for example uploading files etc.), but if I try to register, everything freezes up.

Any help would be appreciated.
