Hello,

I am using Galaxy Europe ([usegalaxy.eu](http://usegalaxy.eu)), and several jobs, including IQ-TREE and SeqSero2, remain in the “new” state and do not start running.

The input datasets are ready (green), and the Galaxy status page shows all services as operational.

I have tried rerunning IQ-TREE, but the new job also remains in the “new” state.

Could you please check whether there is an issue with job scheduling on Galaxy Europe?

Thank you!

Same problem here on Galaxy Europe.

Four URL import jobs ( **DATA\_FETCH** ) have stayed grey
(“This job is waiting to run”) since 29 October 2026, ~23:20 GMT+3.
Job state in the details page: new. Stdout/stderr are empty.

Datasets:
63: SRR8556627\_1.fastq.gz
64: SRR8556627\_2.fastq.gz
65: SRR8556633\_1.fastq.gz
66: SRR8556633\_2.fastq.gz
Source: ENA FTP

Storage: 126 GB / 268 GB (46%). No paused or red datasets.
I have not deleted or resubmitted the jobs.

Test upload of a 4-byte pasted text file failed immediately
with “Upload request failed” (30 Oct 2026, ~02:40 GMT+3).

Thank you.

Hello,
I’m experiencing the same issue on Galaxy Europe.
My BUSCO v5.8.0 job has been stuck in the “new” state since October 29, 2026, at 13:27 (GMT-4).
The analysis uses the agaricales lineage, Miniprot gene predictor, and genome assembly mode.

All input datasets are ready (green), but the job has not started, and the output datasets remain pending.Could you please check if there is an issue with the job scheduler?

Thank you!

Hello @lucasguimaraes @mohammed.mhawish @dstojevic

Yes, the [UseGalaxy.eu](http://UseGalaxy.eu) server is very very busy right now! Getting your jobs into the queue is what you can do.

The `new` state is a queued state. I just posted some advice to a different question but this also applies for all.

> [@GROMACS Energy Minimization job stuck in NEW state](https://help.galaxyproject.org/t/gromacs-energy-minimization-job-stuck-in-new-state/18546/2):
>
> You jobs are currently queued. This is expected at all of the public Galaxy servers. Our best advice is to allow queued job to remain queued (grey) until they execute (yellow) and complete (green or red) → [FAQ: Understanding job statuses](https://galaxyproject.github.io/training-material/faqs/galaxy/datasets_job_status.html) . Deleting and rerunning places the new job back at the end of the queue again, extending your wait time, so please try to avoid this!
>
> To check that the server itself is running Ok, you can review the current work. Thousands of jobs complete every hour, every day! You can use your browser find function to search by tool names too! → [How to see the UseGalaxy.eu job queue statistics - #2 by jennaj](https://help.galaxyproject.org/t/how-to-see-the-usegalaxy-eu-job-queue-statistics/11837/2)
>
> If you have an error, we can help with a review here if you share back your history. → [FAQ: Sharing your History](https://training.galaxyproject.org/training-material/faqs/galaxy/histories_sharing.html)
>
> We hope this helps and that your job has completed by now! 🙂

The [UseGalaxy.eu](http://UseGalaxy.eu) core administrators follow our discussions here so if anything changes, they will let us know. From the statistics we can all see that there are many pending jobs and many executing jobs and some patience is needed for now. → [https://stats.galaxyproject.eu/](https://stats.galaxyproject.eu/)
