how to index the Tetrahymena genome?

The Tetrahymena thermophila isn’t indexed. Is this possible? It can be found at

Hi,
which index are you talking about? A simple fasta index or an index for a specific tool?

Generally, the situation with T. thermophila is a bit complicated by the fact that it has a Mic and a Mac genome and you would likely want a different one of those depending on the question you’d like to answer.
Note however that you can always upload any reference genome in FASTA format to your history, and most tools will be able to generate required indices on the fly from that.

Cheers,
Wolfgang

Hello,

I wanted to make the same request and found this old conversation.

It would be great if you can add both Tetrahymena thermophila MAC and MIC genomes. Simple fasta indexes will be already helpful. The latest versions of data are available from:
for MAC:
http://www.ciliate.org/system/downloads/1-upd-Genome-assembly.fasta
for MIC:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/assembly/GCA_016584475.1

Best,

Followup for others reading. Consider using the custom genome / build functions.
