# Request for of Plasmodium species reference genome

Dear Admin,  
I am writing to request the addition of Plasmodium species (Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium malaria, Plasmodium ovale and Plasmodium falciaparum) reference genome in the galaxy main webpage. Thank you.

Hi @maryrose31

These genomes can be used as custom reference genomes (`fasta`) files from the history. If you need a “database” metadata key, promote each fasta to a custom build with a unique name.

At the very start of an analysis project, the best practise is to prepare each genome `fasta` in a standardized format along with the correctly paired and formatted reference annotation (if you plan to incorporate that kind of data).
