Last month, I used the tool “protologger“ to analyze my data, but several days ago, I found I couldn`t search for this tool. How should I use this tool? Are there any alternative methods? I will be very appreciative of your help!
Welcome @ksilence
Hopefully we can help! I can confirm that the server appears to not be available right now.

I’ve opened a ticket at the Protologger Github repository requesting an update.
- GitHub - thh32/Protologger: Protologgger is a tool for the description of novel taxa by providing taxonomic, functional and ecological insights
- Trouble connecting to http://protologger.de/ · Issue #13 · thh32/Protologger · GitHub
There is also a direct email for support at the Galaxy Hub link. I thought a public ticket might be better for this since others might be curious – but you could send one if you want to. Find the contact information here:

Let’s start there! Thanks for asking and please let me know if I guessed wrong about which server you are working at. ![]()
Adding in some alternatives here you can explore if you don’t want to wait for the server to return or maybe would like to explore the individual steps with slightly different methods for a comparison.
Start here at the GTN. The example query is “bacterial annotation”.
GTN Materials Search (query=bacterial+annotation) – toggle for “hands-on” or “workflow” to restrict the view.
The IWC also hosts production quality workflows you can explore. The search term “bacterial” is a good place to start.
All this said, the server is likely only temporarily unavailable. But we’ll need confirmation from the administrators who host it to know for certain.
Update!!
The server administrators got back to us at the Github ticket we opened.
Hey, yes we have an issue with space on our servers currently. We have requested an increase to our storage size so hopefully we will be back up and running in the coming weeks and will give updates here when possible.
From here, you can wait for their updates or try the independent tool/workflow methods instead.
Good questions and hope this helps! ![]()
Protologger is now back up and running.
Best,
Tom
