Galaxy EU Server: Downtime March 16, 17 2026

Hi, while working on my data, I noticed Galaxy stopped responding, so I refreshed the page. When it reloaded, I immediately received the error shown in the picture below.

Is the server currently down for everyone else? If so, does anyone know when it might be back up?

Yes, the UseGalaxy.eu server has been offline for several hours. There isn’t a topic about it yet, so let’s use yours to let everyone know this is known and where to watch the status.

We experienced a couple of hours of downtime caused by a user with a very large history who attempted to purge all of their datasets (millions) at once. This overwhelmed our Galaxy instance and led to the outage.

We are still working on the issue and monitoring the system closely.
