Hi!
I was wondering if there was an easy-ich way to set a local GTN without every topic already include. Some topics are not necessary for our local galaxy instance. I already tried some tricks like the “enable” and “draft” variable set in topic and tutorial yml files, but none of them really deactivates topics on production.
If you have your own Github repository set up with a copy the default training, you should be able to rearrange the content to customize this any way that you would like to.
How to get a copy is covered in the tutorials here:
With this topic explaining how to generate your own “preview” based on your Github site. You could host your own version from there too I think but don’t know the details.
Reaching out at the GTN’s Gitter chat will put you in contact with the people who maintain the software, and they will have more ideas. I don’t know of anyone running their own distinct site right now, but they might, and will be able to advise more about the details. Maybe there is a recommended way that makes it easier for you to stay current with the common content you do want to keep.
For the easy part: the link from the “hat” icon in the Galaxy masthead to the primary GTN site is a URL defined in the galaxy.yml file, and you can point that to your hosting URL instead.
