I want to retrieve my old account with complete research history

I have lost my previous Galaxy.eu account. The data is lost too from all my lung microbiome research. I wanted to resume my work from June 2022 and was unable to do so. To makeup for the loss, i tried to reactivate my account through gmail, but no history.

Anyone there???

Welcome @IQAN

Would you be able to clarify a bit more?

Do you mean that you deleted your account, or that you are having trouble logging into your old account?

Can you explain how you were doing this? Did you try to reset your password?

Or, did you recreate the account?

If the account was deleted before, by you, then the data has already been fully removed. The UseGalaxy.eu server is GDPR compliant. Meaning, you will be “forgotten” after the account is deleted.

The full details can be found here. → GDPR | GDPR Compliance Documentation

However – I’m wondering if your original account may still exist. If it used a different email address, then this could be true. This is why I am asking about how the account was “deleted”. Was it just abandoned before? Was it at this server or maybe at a different server?

Let’s start there, thanks!

  • Galaxy accounts are server specific, and you are welcome to have an account at each. The original account activation email usually has the details about the server.
  • Galaxy accounts are based on a registered email address. You can update which email to use in user preferences (job or school changes, or just your preference).
  • The account password can be reset on the account login page. Be exact with the email address since these are case sensitive. You last confirmation email will have the format included.
