Library dataset as input of a workflow

Hi,

is it possible to set files from libraries as input dataset of a workflow, I mean in the workflow editor, as fixed parameter?

There is an open ticket for this issue, so others have been thinking about this too! → Select datasets from other histories with data selection dialog · Issue #13106 · galaxyproject/galaxy · GitHub (includes Libraries in the comments)

Current strategies include functions such as the “deferred downloads from remote URLs”. That could be combined with with the ZipExplorer, Rule Based Upload, Text or Directory input logic and instructions for where to where/how source the content in the workflow README.

The post you mentioned is still pending and semi-closed as someone tells that is the same than another ticket that is closed because of a cross-reference to the first one… :thinking:

Yes, it is a bit funny, the other ticket was closed, and links back to this one! The people commenting on it already are our lead developers, so this is definitely still a wish list item and not forgotten. It is just a bit complicated to solve. :slight_smile:
