It sounds like you have marked some data to be permanently deleted (purged) but it is still being processed. This is normal. The full purge happens as a background process and takes about a day to fully clear in the application views. This data is no longer recoverable, and what you are seeing in the interface are partial artifacts.
However, if the data has only been deleted, you can still undelete it back to active status.
