I am trying to connect Galaxy to my AWS to alleviate storage issues. However, when I navigate to the page I encounter this error. Please assist me with resolving this issue. I have ~700 sequences that I need to process through a metagenomic pipeline. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks
Hi @zpho3nix,
The “Cloud Authentication” preference is deprecated and will be removed soon. However, you can connect your external resources to Galaxy using either Storage Locations
or Remote File Sources
. You can access these features under your User Preferences
, Manage Your Storage Locations
, and Manage Your Remote File Sources
.
As they are newly added to Galaxy, tutorials may not be updated/contain related documents for these features, but we are preparing tutorial materials that will be available soon.
Best regards,
Alireza
Hi Alireza,
I do not see the options you mentioned in my preferences. Could you please provide additional guidance? Thanks!
Hi @zpho3nix,
If you don’t see Manage Your Storage Locations
or Manage Your Remote File Sources
under User Preferences
, these features might not be configured on your Galaxy instance. Please contact your Galaxy administrator for this matter.
Best regards,
Alireza
Hi @zpho3nix
It looks like you are working at UseGalaxy.org. Some of these features are not available (yet) but you do have access to the extra 1 TB of 30-day scratch storage at this server.
The UseGalaxy.eu does offer S3 bucket attachments for data storage. Find the connection settings under your User → Preferences → Manage Information view in your account there. If you do not have an account at this server yet, you are welcome to create one! Working at multiple servers has many advantages and it is easy to move data between servers.
ps: thank you @itisAliRH for sharing all the newer feature details here!
Thank you so much, @jennaj. I’ll go invade the eu server…for science of course
Thank you again @itisAliRH for your continued support. May all your genes come true
