Zip file upload paused

Not sure why — when uploading a 150 MB file, it turned orange halfway and showed “Warning: Waiting for server to resume…”. Will this resume, or does it mean the upload has failed?

Welcome @duanyf

Some of this depends on the server and how it was configured but in general, the Upload job is paused on your screenshot. Allowing the job to auto-resume would be a good idea to avoid the need to start over!

Would you like to share more details? Which public server are you working at? Where is the file coming from? Was this a local file upload or is it from a URL? Was this the only Upload job processing for you?

The alternative is to start over. The file is pretty small and maybe the server had a hiccup. Or, is your connection very slow or unstable? Or, has this completed by now?

Let’s start there! Please let us know what happens

Thank you very much for your help.

I am uploading my file through the “Upload Data” section on the iNAP2 web platform, using the option to upload from my local computer. This is the only upload task I am running. I tried re-uploading, but it still gets stuck at around 42%, and then the item in the history turns orange.

Is there anything else I could try?

Hi @duanyf

Thanks for explaining more. This does seem like there might be something going on at the server (at the administrative level) or possibly your data is exceeding their resources.

To make sure we are discussing the correct server, this is the full server URL, correct? https://inap.denglab.org.cn/

If my guess is right, the administrative contact is on the login page. Scroll down a bit to find it.

We don’t want to post the email in plain text to reduce the chance of it being scooped up by spammers! So, if you have trouble with my screenshot, please instead visit the page by logging out to get back to the login form. The contact is also likely in your original account activation email.

I’ve sent them an email and invited them to join and post back here! I would suggest that you also write into them by email! Maybe they can explain the details about your specific job and make a personalized recommendation. Be sure to include all of the details they will need to locate your history and data, and write in from the same email address you originally used for registration (this helps them to find your account at the highest level).

I hope this helps to get things started and please let us know what happens!
