Do Purged Jobs Remain Running?

Hi,
New to using galaxy, unfortunately I thought that purging (deleting, then permanetly deleting) ongoing jobs would stop them from running so that I could re-run/reset them, however looking at my histories in more detail, I can see that the processes are still tagged as yellow, are these jobs still running? If so, is there a way for me to cancel them?
Thanks

Hi @Kshaw,

Generally, deletion of a job, as well as delete and purge option, delete jobs from a cluster, however, sometimes deleted jobs stuck on clusters. I don’t know about the ORG server, but we see this happen occasionally on Galaxy Australia, especially for jobs submitted on collections. Server admins usually remove these jobs, or the jobs complete. In theory, it should not happen, but in practice, it can.

Also, Galaxy may not update the job status, or there might be a delay in the status update. The job appear as running in history panel, but it does not exist on cluster. In this case, clicking at Galaxy icon in the top right corner or refreshing the history content may help.

Kind regards,
Igor
