Galaxy Loading Super Slow

It is hard to see what is going on in your screenshot. Could you explain a bit more? It looks like you have toggled into the deleted tab of your history. None of the files in that area will be available on the tool form – only files in the active tab will be usable for an accession list. Am I understanding? You could also go up and click to clear the filter to see if that is enough. Or, you can click on the Galaxy HOME icon and refresh everything (see the screenshot below for where).

Data purging

This always can take up to 24 hours to fully clear and free up your space for reuse. More details at scratch-space and storage-dashboard

Data loading

The speed depends on your own connection speed for local file Uploads. More details at upload

Other connection speeds/transfer rates can depend on external data providers sites. Retrying again is the usual solution. We can troubleshooting and confirm here with an example! NCBI SRA is one that will occasionally fail for odd reasons. This happens outside of Galaxy during the same time frames, so I think they are simply managing the load on their services (plus updating!).

UI Refresh

If the Galaxy application ever seems “confused” or you have lost your place for some reason, you can refresh the whole browser window to start over by clicking on the Galaxy HOME icon.


I can let you know that the UseGalaxy.org server has been restarting a bit more over the last week or so while we prepare for the release. This could have led to more disruptions than usual since the updates this time involved portions of our infrastructure.

We can investigate anything that is outstanding! I know it can be frustrating when too many things seem to go wrong at once. I’ll be around another hour tonight, or we can follow up tomorrow! :slight_smile:
