Hello, I wondered if there was a way to obtain concrete information from a database.
For nearly two years I have saved files to the database Arabidopsis Thaliana, I would like, for reference, to get some overview over the database in general, statistics, lists etc. Is this possible?
Welcome @AOEynes
Can you explain more about what this is exactly? Is this a history that you named “Arabidopsis Thaliana” at a Galaxy server?
If this is a history, then you could export it under the top level History menu Export History to File. This will allow you to download an archive. This is just a folder containing all the data files plus the Galaxy extra medadata files. You can uncompress and generate any file statistics that you want to using regular unix utilities and even work with the files themselves if you want to.
If the history is large or contains many prior deleted datasets, you might want to use Copy History first and select the option to only copy over the active datasets, to leave all of the unneeded data behind (to reduce the size).
Or, is is this something else? Maybe an Apollo database? If yes, you can use the tool Retrieve Data from Apollo into Galaxy.
Let us know if this helps and you can explain more. I think others had trouble understanding your question but we can try to sort it out now if you can provide more details about what the artifact is since we had trouble understanding. Thanks!
