With the scheduled end of the great CIPRES server next March 2026, phylogeneticians are going to feel orphans… quite a sad period…
In particular, for a few phylogenetic software that are quite demanding (such as BEAST), accessing and moving on local servers is going to be quite pain.
So would you consider installing BEAST (and/or BEAST2) on Galaxy soon? Input (.xml) files can be built locally (using Beauti) and the BEAST launcher (and potentially the TreeAnnotator and LogCombiner tools of the BEAST package) would be the sole tool to install.
Maybe installation is quite tricky but that would be a fantastic addition to Galaxy!!
All the best and many thanks for your consideration.

Creating an issue ticket at the repository would be the next step. Would you like to do this or would you prefer that I get it started? Either is fine and the content can link back to this topic for context.
I asked our developers about your request and [they are interested in exploring this more
Great, that would really be awesome (and not just for me but I assume for all the phylogenetician community) - this software is quite fantastic and of very wide use in our community!

Ok, I do that
Thanks so much it helps a lot indeed - have a great weekend,
