Hello,
I would like to use a custom Blastdb from my history to run an rpstblastn.
To do this, I downloaded a fasta file and ran MakeBlastDb.
The problem is that I can’t select my new Blast database. The rpstblastn tool tells me ‘No blastdbd datasets available’.
Have I missed a step?
Thanks,
Marie

Hi @Marie_Lefebvre
To create a custom index for the NCBI BLAST+ rpstblastn tool, use the NCBI BLAST+ makeprofiledb tool instead of NCBI BLAST+ makeblastdb.
Follow the links in the Help section to learn more about how this works.
Link to some docs but you’ll find more with a quick search → https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK279684/table/appendices.T.makeprofiledb_application_o/
You can also review those already indexed at the UseGalaxy.eu server → link at the EU server
Hope this helps!
Hi @jennaj ,
Thanks for the help, it worked.
