Hi, I tried the Fine-grained sequence comparison with GECKO tutorial and got to the part where I need to visualize my Gecko .csv file, but I cannot get to Gecko-mgv. Is a webpage available or do I need to install it locally? Thanks.

Hi @bburnes
For now, the visualization from GECKO will need the dedicated visualization tool installed locally from author. Or, you could try to convert the format to a standard multiple aligned format or try to convert just the coordinates for a static dotplot. The latter would be easier but both are complicated and would lose some information. Sadly, the authors seem to have abandoned the project. Please consider the tool as a legacy example!
For the remainder of the tutorial, are you working at UseGalaxy.org? If so, you’ll need another tool next that isn’t yet hosted on that server: CHROMEISTER.
You can move over to a server like UseGalaxy.eu and you won’t need to start over! Instead, try moving your history over by URL.
Alternatives → The Mummer suite is worth exploring!
Hope this helps to explain what is going on? ![]()
Hi Jennifer,
I figured the interactive web Gecko was gone. I teach this to college students who have no CS background, so anything web-based is good. Will keep looking for an interactive dotplot app. Thanks so much!
