A very quick question from a novice.
Is a populated DBkey necessary? I appear to have missed this following uploading files…

It depends on the data’s datatype and what tools you plan to use. Some tools will require a database assigned (dbkey) and for those that do, not necessarily for all inputs. And just to complicate it more, there is a method to set up a custom reference genome (or, other “-ome”) so that it has a custom “dbkey” that can be assigned to datasets.
