Hi @GaryAitken
The current method is to connect to the Google API. We have some instructions in a prior topic here → import big file from protected cloud to my usegalaxy account
I haven’t personally tried connecting to Google Drive recently, but if you run into complications, we can troubleshoot them here.
Alternatives include moving the data first to a supported cloud data provider and using that connection instead. Examples include Dropbox, OneData, Nextcloud, Zenodo and others or connecting your account to a cloud bucket.
Check under User → Preferences → Manage Information for the data sources supported at the Galaxy server you are working at (each may be a bit different, and once data is loaded at one server, you can use it as your “hub” to transfer data to other Galaxy servers). Each server will host a different set of integrations.
You can also review under User → Manage Your Galaxy Storage to learn about the supported cloud data storage options. These can be used as your data storage locations for all Galaxy assets associated with your account (read/write for histories, data, jobs, everything!). Once connected, you’ll be able to set the location under User → Preferred Galaxy Storage and for individual histories and workflow output locations.
An overview of the changes in the new release can be found here → Redesigned File Sources and Storage Location Interfaces in 25.0 Galaxy Release (June 2025) — Galaxy Project 25.0.2.dev0 documentation
Hope this helps and we can certainly follow up more!
