Reading old support threads — do you prefer follow-ups as new topics?

Hi @roadtrip6587

We are pretty easy with the help, so the short answer is that either is fine! Some general advice:

Many of the topics here are scientific/usage questions, so the advice doesn’t really expire and may never be fully “resolved”, or maybe there isn’t a single way to address the situation! If your question seems to be like this, you can keep going on the original topic or quote it and start over with what is different about your situation.

Then for any reports about temporal behavior at a server or with a tool (some issue about job queues is a common topic like this!), then this is usually best in a new thread. Galaxy is a dynamic distributed system with a lot of evolution!

It is hard to know sometimes at the start, so just do what feels right. For both, the server URL and the full tool name/version will usually matter, so be sure to include these, and more people will be able to help quicker! A shared history link is always the best way to get specific feedback. → How to get faster help with your question
