I need to use the Human hg19 reference genome and its is not available in the dropdown menu. Can it be added please?
Actually it’s the BWA-MEM, not BWA-MEM2.

Hi @hcole
Hopefully we can help!
I see the Homo Sapiens GRCh37 hg19 genome hosed in BWA-MEM at these two UseGalaxy servers. Are you working somewhere else? You could move your data over and work at these, too.
Am I misunderstanding something? Would you be able to explain a bit more? Thanks! ![]()
XRef → Reference genomes at public Galaxy servers: GRCh38/hg38 example
Hi Jennifer,
I’m using the US version of Galaxy and I’m taking a course in variant interpretation. We’ve been asked to use some data from the NCBI website to work on our assignment.
I loaded the data file and ran the FastQC tool without trouble. Our next step is to map it using BWA-MEM, but the Using Reference Genome drop down only goes to Brucella intermedia (GCF_900454225.1_34576_H01) and there is no more scrolling after that. If I continue to scroll down, the rest of the page starts scrolling by and the reference genome list stays at the Brucella option.
So maybe it’s a technical problem. I have logged out and logged back in multiple times and the issue remains.
I’ve used this tool before and it worked, so I’m not sure why I’m having this trouble.
I hope that gives you a better idea of why I’m stuck!
Thanks,
Heather
Hi again Jennifer,
I was able to type in the hg19 and get it, though I still don’t know why the drop down is so short.
Problem solved for the moment.
Have a good day,
Heather
Hi @hcole
Great, glad you found the genome!
It sounds like the scroll is truncating in your web browser! This is a known issue we are still working on. Using the search terms will work better for right now. ![]()
Apologies for not recognizing what was going on originally!
