Undoing a deletion

I deleted a duplicate FASTQ collection and chose the ‘delete associated elements’ option. I did not purge, but I cannot get the collection back into useable form. The duplicated file also links to the deleted elements is not useable. how do I fix this?

Hi @catherinecollins8,

Try the following: click at Include deleted (bin icon) at the top of the history panel, just above datasets. Click at Include hidden (strike-through eye icon). Double check that both Deleted and Hidden icons were selected (in grey background). You’ll see hidden and deleted datasets just under deleted collection. Undelete the collection and datasets.

Hope that helps.

Kind regards,

Igor

Thank you Igor for responding!

I can see them but I can’t manage to ‘undelete’ them. They had an orange trashcan icon.

I was able to ‘undelete’ other files, but not the files with the orange trashcan.

In the future, I will avoid the ‘delete associated elements when deleting’.

Thank you for your help, and best wishes,

Cathy

Hi Cathy,

Here is a screenshot from my history on the ORG server. I see orange icon near deleted collection, but not deleted datasets from this collection. For example, collection 36 contains hidden and deleted datasets 32-25. I can undelete both the collection and the datasets.

Do you see something similar in your history? I am a regular user on the ORG server, without admin privilege.

Kind regards,

Igor
