Action requires account activation - account created using Gmail address so can't reset password

Welcome @kmkocot

:graduation_cap: Account creation has two steps and works the same at all Galaxy servers.

  1. Register the account in a web browser at the server you want to use.

  2. Confirm the account from the email sent by that same server.

:white_question_mark: Please check your Gmail inbox, spam, and trash folders for the confirmation message from the Galaxy server administrators. The message should include a CLICK HERE link. You can click that directly, or copy/paste the link into a web browser. Once this is completed, your account is activated.

I see your new account at UseGalaxy.org and it is not activated yet. I just sent you another confirmation email with a fresh link! Please check for it!

Then, if that doesn’t work for some reason, remember that this forum is public and it would be better to discuss account issues privately. You can write into our galaxy-bugs at lists.galaxyproject.org mailing list and I can help you directly.

For anyone else reading who has this issue at different server, this topic explains how to find the contact for most servers. → Finding the contact for a Galaxy server. If you can’t find it, start up a topic here, share the server URL (browser address at the top!), and we can help to find it!

Finally, I would be curious about how you originally created your account. Was this through the Google Account authentication method? Or did you input the email address and password for the site directly? I’m wondering if the Goggle authentication has a problem but I haven’t been able to reproduce it yet, but I can try again with enough step-by-step details to reproduce.

Thanks and let us know how this goes! :rocket:
