create biom from tables

One question regarding the conversion of tabular files to biom. Tabular data was generated with dada and I have two tables:

  • one with columns ASV, Sample1, Sample2, … that gives the counts for each ASV and
  • another table ASV, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus which lists the taxa.

There are tools from the biom suite that should do this, but I have not found the time to test it.

Biom convert and biom add metadata are my hottest candidates.
