Create tabular file

Hi,

Can anyone advise how to create a new tabular file in galaxy? which tool should be used?

Hi Alex

You can use the “Upload File - from your computer” tool (see also: https://galaxyproject.github.io/training-material/topics/galaxy-data-manipulation/tutorials/get-data/slides.html ) and select ‘Paste/Fetch data’. This will allow you to directly enter text, e.g.:

1 2 3
a b c

Make sure you tick the box for 'Convert spaces to tabs which you will see, when you click on the ‘Settings’ wheel. To be on the safe side, select ‘tabular’ in the ‘type’ drop-down menu.

Now, click on Start, and you will have you small table with 3 columns and 2 rows in your galaxy history
