Just an idea.
I often have lots of datafiles, way over 250Gb.
This is why I am have my own local galaxy instance.
Has it ever been considered to provide extra space to users, for a price?
Could be of interest to many!
Oh, there are many other ways to use Galaxy besides the public servers. Please see these resources for the full details: Private Galaxy Servers
And, for academic users, some of the public servers offer short term extra space. It is good to have your workflow ready to go to maximize how much processing you can get done during the grant window. Even large workflows with a lot of data will only take a few days to a week or so. Then you move the data off to permanent storage once done. The server homepages have quota request forms for this if available.
