I maintain a workflow on the European server that I share only within my research group by specifying individual users.
The problem is that it seems that I cannot remove users. When I click on the x to the right of a name, then that user disappears from the box, but all the existing users are added extra, including the one I am trying to remove. All the others are now duplicated in the box. I can click neither Cancel nor Save.
I have the vague recollection that this used to work fine before the launch of v24.0 in March 2024, but I might be wrong.
Hi @bence.melykuti
I tested workflow sharing on Galaxy Australia, and it looks like a bug (ping @jennaj, we got another bug), but it seems it does not affect the functionality. Click at x of the user selected for removal, ignore extra users and click Save: duplicated users will disappear. At least it was the case for me. The bug might depend on browser. I use Firefox.
Kind regards,
Igor
Thank you @igor for checking.
I also use Firefox.
I can’t click Save because the button is inactive (`grey’), and so is Cancel.
(Just today I could add a new user because the Add button turned into Save after entering the user’s email address and pressing Enter, and Save was active.*)
hmm, I shared a workflow with a user on Galaxy Europe and removed the user. I don’t know many users on European server, so cannot check on multiple accounts, but no issue with a single user.
It might be some kind of cache related issue. Maybe try this: close the browser, open the browser, connect to Galaxy Europe, click at Galaxy icon at the top left corner and proceed with user removal.
Hope that helps.
Kind regards,
Igor
What do you mean by Add button? What procedure do you use? I use the following: Workflow (in the top Galaxy menu) > Share icon on a workflow > type email in the “form” (bar?) > hit Enter > hit Save button. I don’t see Add button.
I’m doing the same.
If I start typing the new email address - then the Save button has the text `Add’ on it. But it’s inactive, I can’t press it. I have to complete the addition by pressing Enter, then the Add button turns into Save, which I can click to save the new user.
You are right! I missed the Save-to-Add change. I do not press Add. i\I type the whole email and hit Enter. After that Add changes back to (active) Save.
Hi @bence.melykuti
I reproduced “remove user” issue.
I can successfully remove the last user, not 1st or a user in the middle.
Technically, you can remove users one by one from “3’ end” and later add users that should have access to workflow. It is a serious bug. Thank you for reporting it! @jennaj More info on the issue “cannot remove a user from workflow sharing list”. Only the last user can be removed.
Kind regards,
Igor
