Sorry for the dumb question - I have forgotten how to log in to my local instance of galaxy and apparently, I never set up the email server for “forgot my password”. Can I find the password for my email so I can log in?

Passwords are not stored as plain text, so finding them in the database does not help you. Your best bet is to find Galaxy’s configuration file (usually galaxy.ini) and add another admin account, then create that new account and then you are an admin and can change people’s passwords (like the one of your old account).
