Jobs get immediately paused

Hello,
I have been trying to launch some jobs in the European server since Saturday and they get paused immediately. Similar jobs I launched before Saturday worked. I know there was a strike on Friday. Is because of the strike my jobs get paused? My user ID at Galaxy EU is carlosdiazcastillo.
Thanks,
Carlos

Welcome, @Carlos_Diaz-Castillo

Your jobs are queued, so let those flow through the queuing process without any interruptions.

As a test, I just started up some simple jobs, and those started immediately, but those were both very small, and were my only jobs. For larger jobs, or when running many jobs, at least some will usually queue, and that is totally normal.

How this works

And, I we have a topic here that explains a bit more: Job execution timing and computational resources: any tool, any public Galaxy server - #2 by jennaj. Any with the queued-gray-datasets tag will have more examples.

If you want to see what jobs the server is processing, follow the link on the server homepage. This topic shows where to click exactly. How to see the UseGalaxy.eu job queue statistics

All accounts work the same. So, I think all is working but it was good to double check! Hope this helps! :scientist:

Thanks Jenna,

Now I can see that my jobs were paused because I exceed my storage quota. This is weird, because I was able of running the same jobs once, and I purges the results of the first job so I wasn’t using that much of my space. I just ask for more storage, which might help going forward with my analyses.

Thanks for your help,

Ah yes, that could be a reason for a light-blue paused job! Apologies that I didn’t understand which type you were explaining originally.

Great that you requested more space at the EU server.

For anyone else who has this same issue later on, this is what to do

  1. First, manage your storage under your User → Preferences → Storage Dashboard. Find related topics at storage-dashboard

  2. Learn if the server where you are working already hosts extra space, or if you should request it and how, at this topic → What should I do if my data exceeds the given 250GB of storage?
