Over your disk quota

Hi,
maybe this is a topic that already exists, but still I can’t seem to find the answer and I really need your help.
Even after deleting and purging deleted datasets, I get the message that I’m using 100 % of my disk quota (that is 60 GB in Repeat Explorer). I tried everything - logout and back to home page, waiting for over 1 day for the storage to empty… and I’m really out of ideas; I’m desperate…Please help!
Thanks in advance:hugs:

Hello @adela

To confirm, this is the public Galaxy server you are using? https://repeatexplorer-elixir.cerit-sc.cz/galaxy/

If so, you should contact them directly and ask the administrators to reset your quota calculation. Not all Galaxy public servers track this forum.

Contact information is usually on the home page of the server but for this one, it is one level up and can be found here: https://galaxy-elixir.cerit-sc.cz. Some also post the contact information at their Galaxy public server hub information page, but this one doesn’t: Galaxy Platform Directory: Servers, Clouds, and Deployable Resources - Galaxy Community Hub >> RepeatExplorer - Galaxy Community Hub

Tricky to find so hope that helps!

If the quota doesn’t change after that, it means you really do still have data that is either in an active or deleted state and not “permanently deleted” (aka “purged”) state. Only purged data does not count toward quota. Maybe double-check? Or maybe the admins at that server can help – I’m not an admin there so cannot check for you.

You also might want to go through your hidden datasets. Tools automatically create these when a different data format is needed by a tool. If you are still using the primary dataset, it is a good idea to keep these around, but if you are done with the primary dataset, any hidden dataset variations could also be purged. Now, if you purge an entire history, all datasets, including hidden will also be purged, but if you are purging individual datasets, some of those hidden datasets could still be present. Click on the “show hidden” link at the top of the history panel to reveal them.

Thank you so much for your quick reply!
I purged my history and all hidden datasets and nothing happened, so I contacted the administrators.
I use https://repeatexplorer-elixir.cerit-sc.cz/galaxy/. So now I’ll wait for their answer and let you know how they replied.
Again thank you so much!

They answered pretty quickly and purged my history since it didn’t seem to be empty. It is wise to go to User-> Saved histories -> Advanced search, because there you can find what is the actual status of all your files (active/deleted/purged).
If I have any more questions, I’ll be free to ask.
Bye
