Would it be possible for galaxy to include Camelus dromedarius reference genome in built in index ?
For now:
Use the custom genome method. See Custom genome + custom build: How to use a genome that is not natively indexed at the server you are working at
For later (later this year, or early next)
We can likely index the genome at the public servers. We will need to know the exact assembly, and it should be from a stable public source with a version. A link is usually the best way to specify that.
Hope that helps!
Thank you for the response
The Camelus dromedarius genome can be found at Camelus dromedarius genome assembly CamDro3 - NCBI - NLM

Could you help out to include said genome as index for mapping in galaxy
Ok, great, thanks for posting back.
UCSC hosts many of the genomes as well, so that is probably where we will get it. That is where you could get it as well to avoid having to merge chromosome file together. https://hgdownload.soe.ucsc.edu/hubs/UCSC_GI.assemblyHubList.txt
GCF_000803125.2 CamDro3 Camelus dromedarius Arabian camel (Drom800 2019 refseq) 9838 mammals
I’ll mark this for updates later. Thanks!
Thank you madam response
it will be a great help to person working on camel welfare and genomics
Thanks
