The fix to apply the missing username value is still pending, but I’ve gone in and manually added this to both of your accounts. Please check and see if that resolved the issue.
For anyone else who has this problem right now, do this:
- Log into your account
- Go to User → Preferences → Manage Information
- Add in a Public name
- Click on Save
Why or When is this needed?
Galaxy didn’t require a username aka “public name” in the early days, and now it is required. We will be filling these in for people in a batch but you can also go into your account and add one.
All of your preferences are always accessible to you. Update email addresses, public/user names, your password, API keys – everything is under your control.
