I am trying to follow this transcriptomic tutorial, I have a question about the reference files that have been used in the tutorial.
star_miRNA_seq.fasta
mature_miRNA_AT.fasta
miRNA_stem-loop_seq.fasta
where these files are publically available? Are these files from miRBase database? And what is the star file?

those files are available on the PmiREN website; all of them correspond to Arabidopsis thaliana. The star file includes the sequences that are complementary to the main miRNA sequences (originated from the same hairpin structure); the main sequences are considered the functional ones, but because there are no sufficient experimental evidence to determine if the complementary sequences are not functional, those are also included in the target identification analysis.
